Radiance@Glasgow

Radiance is an occassion where works of various artists are placed around glasgow old merchant city as a showcase of Festival of Light. People spend more time figuring out their way than studying the artworks when the map is not helpful at all.

Glasgow Cathedral. I think this is the nicest of all

Gals showing off their gloves

We ran out of time and the exhibition was all over when the clock struck 10. We were denied entry into some of the exhibitions. So we head to Royal Exchange Hall for some photoshot.

Happy Mothers' Day!

Monday, May 07, 2007

Watched the MAS ad on ESPN?

Blues supporter singing "Chelsea is gonna win! Chelsea is gonna win" who is flying in a MAS airplane to London. And in the next scene he is flying back, and this time, crying,"Why didn't you win, Chelsea?". That pretty sums up Chelsea's season..... And MANCHESTER UNITED won the English Premier League!

MU ROCKS! n RULZ!

Sunday, May 06, 2007

The drama in football never fail to impress. That's one of the reason my blog is all about football nowadays. It's all about Manchester United so to speak. After a disappointing week for MU in the Champions League, the players were more than determined to grab a win at the derby match against City. And after a lead with Ronaldo's penalty, City was awarded a penalty with a foul by Wes Brown on Dick-off at the 81st minute. In the video replays, it was obvious that the contact was minimal the referee's decision was generous indeed to the city rivals and might strike a cruel blow to MU's run-in to the title. I would understand Chelsea fans delight of that fumble and gave them a chance to catch up if MU failed to win this game. MU fans like me was cursing the referee and fearing the worse. Another winless game would spell a disastrous week for the club. However, it was Chelsea's heart that sank when Van der Saars manage to keep the ball out when Vassell blasted the ball straight at his feet. And the MU corner erupted! The game ended with a win and MU was even more closer to the title. A draw from the next 2 games, or any mistakes from Chelsea, the title fate would be sealed. I hope tonight would be the night after 4 years wait for the title! Let's bring them back to Old Trafford. Next year, i might not be able to cheer the club on as the hostility of Scots towards English clubs would force me to hide my allegiance. So i really hope nothing will go wrong the next fortnight and i had something to celebrate before moving to the land with only Celtics or Rangers to watch, a very dull prospect. However i would not dismiss the Scottish link in MU whom Scotman manager Alex Ferguson is the manager of the century!

I missed 2 great Manchester United combacks this week. First the Champions League win against AC Milan from 2-1 down, and then the win over Everton during the weekend. I am exhilarated with both results. Fortunes are back in MU's pocket and i hope this run of form continue, fingers crossed. Both wins really did help me to go through the gruelling labor of clarking cases during hospital attachment. Now its all ends and i should be able to concentrate on my preparation to go to Scotland.

ps: blogging from my new notebook for the first time!

Weekend of Upsets

Wednesday, April 04, 2007

PSV took some beating this morning. Crouch scored again in 3 to nil which would spell semi-final place for Liverpool on the plate. Not bad tall man!

Hope that the other two English club will go through. Don't mind Liverpool playing Chelsea.

MU... we believe. A draw is good enough, fingers crossed.

Exam over....relaxed dah.....

Friday, March 30, 2007

Exam is finally over and its 24 since i blogged. Not 24 hours but days, nearly a month.

Relaxed dah! Managed to watch TV and catch up on Heroes, play my games, etc...and got updated on news...

So many funny things is happening to this country.

Privatisation meant to cut cost and wastage ended up being money printing machines for orang besar. Rakyat had to pay taxes for people like me to use LDP. Rakyat had to pay for those companies' profit. The toll i pay is not getting any cheaper though. I pay RM 6.40 per day to travel from Kepong to Sunway to Bkt. Jalil and back.

Prices of medicines is the new hot issue now. The rakyat are charged exorbitant markep-up prices which are around the range of 100% by pharmacies and clinics. After the FTA, the prices would be even higher. It's a laissez faire will little control from the gah-men. Then, the new healthcare policy is under drafting stages in the 9th Malaysian plan. I doubted there would be less privatisation in this reform, as privatisation = money in this country.

I would not make any conclusions yet, but i felt something was wrong. Anyway i am leaving my beloved country to further my studies in a couple of months time. I wished i would not come back to a land where healthcare became a profit-based business of the orang besars, with revenue and profit given the priority instead of the well-being of our rakyat.

20
days

The exact time left to study for finals...

Gosh! I haven't settled down since the Saturday victory. Football is strange. Some say there's destiny. And destiny it was for Manchester United to win at Liverpool. I hope that players and fans wouldn't be carried away by this victory. 10 matches are yet to be played and anything can happen. The twist-and-turns of fate, if you believed in it,would unfold in the most unexpected and interesting ways....

Scenario 1: Manchester United beat Liverpool and go all the way to win EPL!
Scenario 2: Manchester United beat Liverpool and it sparked an uprise of spirits in the KOP camp. Pumped up there adrenaline and increased their thrist for victory. They sweep Barcelona aside, and also ManU to win the C. Cup(not bra size). Kim and crushedguava would be happy however unlikely.
Scenario 3: Manchester United loses Scholes, Rooney and Larsson for the next few matches and gave Chelsea a chance to catch-up(a pinch of pessimism and a sense of foreboding here. U'll never know).
Scenario 4: I'm too engrossed in Manchester United's next 10 EPL matches, and neglected my next 20 days of studies. Failure in exams. Can't let that happen and i shall stop here.

Time to study....

New Year, New appearance

I removed the old road blog, the obstacle.

Now, i can blog, without slowing down.
9th day of Lunar New Year.... 天公诞快乐!

No point filling in the blogs between Lunar New Year and today. They would be about eating, drinking and gambling if i did fill them in. Holiday ends today and Monday blue kicks in. As usual, the holiday is too short and angpau is too little.

Today is also a big day for the film industry where films and motion pictures are awarded the much coveted golden statue of Oscar for their achievements and contributions. Martin Scorsese finally got his award. The Departed which won the Best Picture was adapted from HK's Infernal Affairs. It is an acknowlegdement to the HK film industry.

Most importantly Al Gore's The Incoveniet Truth won the Best Documentary Feature. Perhaps people would have a second look of this film which they use to ignore. Those who ridiculed my poor brother for introducing the film in his class might pay interest in the film and also the global warming. Award always do a film good by increasing its popularity and inflating its box office. Smart move by the Malaysian movie industry to screen this year old documentary in the cinemas only after the Oscars. Don't miss this documentary. Its an Oscar-winning film anyway. You should know more. In cinemas March 15.
