Next Station...
I glanced at the person next to me. He embarked the train at the previous station. He is immaculately dressed in new school uniform. He's wearing a light smile, ever enthusiastic about his new school, new environment, and new friends.
He reminds me about myself, also a new boy at IMU in February. Time flies and i had experienced so much this year. University life was bitter sweet. I met so many new friends, new people at my new school. I also found my love, a new relationship i will cherish forever. Sometimes i am so tired of work and assignments. It's kinda tiring to keep up on schedule but i am getting use to it. I must!
I looked into my watch. I can't help fidgeting. I felt like ages since we left the last station. When will we reach the next station!? I looked out of the plastic window of the train. It was partially obscured by mist and the scenery ahead is blur. I am quite anxious. I never venture beyond the previous station. And while i am thinking about what interesting things lie ahead....
Suddenly, the onboard speaker blasted into life with a mature voice, clearing his voice with a light cough. It's the train driver:
"Next Station....2006. Stesyen berikutnya...2006"
2006... just one more step away.
Countdown to 2006
bye bye 2005, welcome 2006
Now its the time of the year when we start to discard old calenders and replacing them with new ones. Thanks to Red Box karaoke, i always got a new calender for my wallet every year.
why!? why her picture this year!
I thought that last year's calender was lame. Shark's Tale. But this year not nice at all. I was expecting Jay Chow or Mayday. Haha, but shouldn't ask for so much la, its free anyway. It fits my wallet rather well though.
I'm going to Port Dickson for New Year this year and i think i will leave my blog empty for a few days. I'll post about the trip after i am back.
Happy New Year!!!

Jinjang no Jalan
Hustle and bustle in the early morning market
It had been years since i visited a market so early in the morning. And i did not expect to discover anything interesting amidst this jungle of meat and vege.
Market Road!! (1kg Rm10.00 Road)
So foolish of me not to notice this earlier after living in Kepong for all my life. Jinjang, where the market situated, is the only place in the whole KL (or perhaps most of whole Malaysia) which preserves the old roads names from our colonial past. Over the years, Pudoh Street was changed to Jalan Pudu, Brickfields Road to Jalan Sambathan, Ampang Road to Jalan Ampang by our government to dispell any influence of our past colonial masters. Strong protests had been staged against these actions and yet to no avail. Yet, Jinjang was able to preserve what is dear to the people there... their own identity, their own name. No, "1kg Rm10.00 Road" is not a new name given by the government, only an ah pek misplacing the price tag for his... i forgot what. Okay ah pek, its just a photo, no need stare at me like that one!
Club Road poskod 52000 Kuala Lumpur
Okay, let me see... The Market Road is at the market. The Club Road?! I didn't see any clubs nearby. There's a Pusat Penjaja Jinjang Utara nearby though. I wonder if we are still under British rule, this street will be renamed to Hawker Stall Street. Do you know what's the main road in Jinjang called? Yes, simple.. it's Main Road!
Going Home!
On our way back, Dad talked about how important to remember our roots. I listen to his reminiscence of the good old days where all the road names are much more easier to remember. Places like Campbell Road where he always hang out with mom in their teens are no more, replaced by a smelly Jalan Dang Wangi. I think he's right. Places and people should preserve their name. So, in the future, please don't change any roads to be named after me kay! Don't want to see Jalan Lee Kwee Hoong or Jalan Hoong...etc. Haha! So perasan la, better get some sleep first....

Christmas eve
Gugu/aunt: Xin dan jiet mak gai loi geh? (What Christmas day?)
me : Gi du gao eh ngin geh jiap ngit la (Christian's/Catholics celebration la..)
gugu: Mak gai heh gi du gao? (Who are christians?)
me: Xin yesu eh ngin la. (Believer of God and Jesus.)
gugu: Oh... xin dan jiet hin jok mak gai geh? (Why do they celebrate Christmas?)
me: Hin jok yesu ge sang git la (To commemorate the birth of Christ)
gugu: Zho mak gai? (for wat?)
me: Hao chiong gon yim dan an yong la (like how we pray during Guan Yin's goddess' birthday)
gugu: Oh... Yesu heh ai jak fui fui jiok hong set sam ge ah? (Is Jesus the fat fat one wearing red?)
me: M heh la, ai jak heh xin dan lao ngin (No! that's Santa Claus)
gugu: Heh lang ngin? (Who's he?)
me: Pai li mut bin xe lao goh ge la. (Give present to kids one la)
gugu: Oh..
There goes the anual inquisition about Christmas and its origins.
gugu: Gia di sit foh gai geh, heh mm heh? (They eat turkey one rite?)
me: Heh loh, ngi you di dao geh? (how u know?)
gugu: Ngai di dao geh. (I just know)
me: oh... *as if*....
I think probably my brother told her about it. She asked my brother about the party the day before, and perhaps she came across with turkey. Haha... at least she knew something new this year.
gugu: ngai di dao, foh gi glok glok glok giao mah(I know, turkey makes glok glok glok* sound one!)
*trying to imitate the sound of a turkey.
Glok glok glok....
Merry Christmas!

A different Christmas after all
Waiting during the operation.
At least mom n aunt had a moment for a light chat when aunt is not around.
Mom is going to spend a night with aunt at the ward. My bro and I went for a walk while waiting in between the operation. We went around the hospital and nearly got lost in th compound. I took a photo.
Perubatan Nuklear.
I joked that they are making nuclear bomb tablets in there.
bro: "Lame..." and tried to peep inside.
me: " ...don't get too close, later u get mutated."
bro: "Lame..."
We found a sundry shop and bought Clorets. Then we saw Delifrance around the corner. Wow, a cafe in the hospital. Had Papprika chicken sandwiches. Then, we headed back to the ward just in time.
Aunt was fine after the operation. It was a success and aunt regain consciousness soon after that. She looked fine, only a little weary.
I had another wish for the new year now. I wished that aunt will recover soon and everyone around will stay healthy and happy. I told myself that we should not be worried too much. Everything will be fine soon. It will be what it should be. Anyway, it'll be a different Christmas after all.
love, freedom, fate.... and spongebob squarepants
The Promise from ent.sina.com.cn
I went to watch The Promise/"Wu ji" at 1 utama today. I think Perhaps . Love is great, but this is better. This is a story about Love, Freedom and Fate and the story revolves around a general and a slave and a queen.
I took this in the cinema. This is not part of WuJi.
I don't want to be sued of infringement of copyright.
This is just a Celcom commercial.
There's half an hour of commercial before the show. I was so bored that i took a photo. I even walked out the cinema to make sure i am at the right cineplex. And after the long wait, the show finally started.
It is a great movie. The settings are beautiful, the acts are great, and the dialogs are... so shakespeare.... haha! At some stages i was so absorbed into the characters that i felt that i'm in the movie, feeling the characters emotions. Haha, am i exaggerating here?
This movie is like an art piece, so finely created by director chen kaige and i am not surprised there are so many bad reviews about the movie other than the good ones. Isn't that just normal for any art work, where people have different opinions about it, whether it is good or bad. That's why i am not surprised when some of the fellow audience treated it as a comedy, laughing away at some scenes in the movie.
Anyway, two thumbs up for The Promise. That's what i think.
After the movie, we went to MPH to find a book. On the way, i found this....
Spongebob squarepants party collection, looks cute so i bought it...
more photos about what's inside will be added soon.

High Tech Game, Low Tech Ref
It has been a long wait and finally, Fifa is considering the use of goal-line technology. Sepp Blatter has finally took a step back and allows the game to be played with balls implanted with microchips. But this will only apply onto youth competitions as trials.
We are in the 21st century and players trainings, equipments and clothings are using the most advanced technologies in the world. Players undergo specialise training regime to boost their stamina and techniques. Balls and boots have evolved from their early predecessors into performance enhancing marvels. But yet, they are still reluctant to use video technologies in helping refereeing. There's a need for changes. Why can't they emulate other games in which video replays help referees make just decisions. They say it will disrupt the flow of the game. This can be easily solved by having a fourth official watching the replays and help the referee in making vital judments like penalties and goals when its necessary.
Time for a change! NOW!

Rojak
This rojak in Subang Jaya is the best i ate in KL. And i think many people agree with me.
On weekdays, you would see people lining right onto the middle of the road until the MPSJ people had to chase the rojak uncle to another spot nearby. It's strange to see people sitting next to the longkang in a long row, enjoying the rojak. The queue is long, but worth the wait. I had my fix today, and surprised that there are so many people like me, stubbornly queuing up in the rain for it.
No storm could stop us ! even Titan can't resist rojak...
I think SJ folks will know which rojak i'm talking about. It's located opposite the SHELL station in SS15 on weekends. After they were chased away by MPSJ, they sell rojak opposite Subang Square on weekdays (at T junction).

Understanding . Love (continued)
boy ran to the same cake house. On the way, he said to himself...
boy: i must get the cake. It's my only chance she will come back to me. If i fail, no, no if, i can't fail, i won't
The cake house is open
boy: Do you remember wat cake i bought 5 years ago?
friend: Hey! it's been a long time since we met!
boy: Sorry, i'm in a hurry! Its a matter of life and death! please!
friend: Ok.. cool down, i still keep the sales records, let me check...
He got his cake, he forgot to pay. He looked into his watch. 11.52pm. He ran and ran.
12.01am Happy New Year! The crowd at time square cheered! Everyone was excited. Everyone wished each other the best of luck for the year. There was a live concert on the stage. The boy reached just in time.
boy: i got you the cakes!
girl: hehe, let me see wat cake u bougt
boy: tiramisu
girl smiled.
Suddenly, someone knocked the box of cake of boy's hand. It was too crowded. The cake fell onto the ground.
boy: Sorry, i'll go buy you a new one
gal: No, it doesn't matter. I am happy that you reached in time, with me, for the new year.
boy:....
Boy held her hands.
12.01am The boy ran to gal, who's waiting at the fountain at times square. It's mid-autumm. No crowd, no celebration.
boy: i got you the cake!
girl: wat cake did u buy?
boy: Tiramisu, just like three years ago.
gal: you bought this for me three years ago?
boy nodded.
gal: My favourite cake is blueberry cheese cake.
boy:....
gal: u made the wrong guess 5 years ago. After five years of relationship, u still don't understand what i really like?
boy:...
gal:mayb i am asking too much from you but all i want is someone just right for me, someone who really understands me. Someone who knows what i want even before i tell him. Do you understand?
gal walked away.
boy looked at his cake.
he bought the same cake.
boy did not cry.
5 years ago, the boy made the wrong guess.
Now, the boy UNDERSTANDs.
(picked from TVB series "Always on call")
Understanding . Love
boy: Do you mean that u thought of breaking up with me 2 year ago before the accident?
gal : Sorry....
boy:....
gal left her seat, leaving the restaurant
boy staring at her back, contemplating about wat she just told him. Then, he left his seat, he wanted to chase her back.
boy: Sorry, i knew that i did not care about u much recently.
gal: .....
boy: Do you mean that our relationship ended 2 years ago? i don't think so. God gave us a chance. Even after 2 years, we are still together.
gal: ....
boy: i know i am stupid and didn't know how u felt. It's my fault but don't u think its not fair for me?
gal: ....
boy: i know i am not a perfect person, but i will try to change, i promise u. i'll be a better person!
the gal continued walking, boy following...
gal: Why change your personality just to suit me? Don't you think it's meaningless? The problem is you don't understand what i really want...
boy: But in a relationship we need to accept each others shortcoming rite? We need to accept each other's weaknesses
gal: ....
boy: i'm willing to change but why not you? Sometimes we need to sacrifice for each other.
gal: ....
Boy hugged gal from behind
boy: Do you know wat i am thinking now? I was thinking about how we started. I was thinking about how we met in our schoolmates' gathering. U chose me among all our friends. Our love is like a movie, like a fantasy..
gal: ....
boy: Then the accident totally changed our life. You were in a coma.
gal: ....
boy: Do you know, i thought of commiting suicide. But i tell myself that i can't. We had been through so much. I have to wait till u wake up, i can wait 10 years 20 years i told myself. Do you understand.
boy in tears
boy: Look into my eyes. Do you stil remember all that i did for u? U forgot everything i did for u?
gal: ...
boy: i can tell u that my love for you will be always the same, past, present or future.
gal, silent, can't find any suitables words to say
boy: All i want now, is, that you give me one last chance, just once...
gal: Do you still remember how we first started?
boy: Yes, 5 years ago, time sq, new year's eve
gal: That night, you promised me that you will do something for me. You didn't. I'll give you a chance now to complete it. I'll wait for you.
gal left
boy broke into tears... (to be continued)

Chronicles of Narnia
This is how it looks like
I only found out its Narnia when i see the Lion mauling the clown in white
one of the six books...
The witch, the lion and the washing machine
blah blah blah... long story, i'll only see the pictures then
Seldom see illustrations in books nowadays, no doubt its a children book...and a very old one
This is Narnia... I wonder how they kept it in the wardrobe
The Chronicles of Narnia
Nowadays, they can produce movies out of any books, novels, or bedtime stories... Fr LOTR to Memoirs of Geisha
I guess the next hit will be....
Peter & Jane the movie, my childhood favourite

Motor chop
I was drawn to choppers by this interesting series called "American Chopper" on Discovery Channel. This series is a documentary about Orange County Choppers, which is a company renowned for producing great and beautiful choppers. To be able to follow the process of producing a chopper is a great experience! These are some of the bikes which i personally love myself...
Blue Linx
This baby is one of the themed choppers produced by them. Loved this particular chopper because of its combination of old-style looks and its new modern curvatures. And this is one of the special choppers which is in a cute baby blue color. Who says choppers must be macho!? I particularly loves the classic headlight and the unique double exhaust pipe. The chassis is just nice because it leaves little space between the fuel tank and the engine. Some of the other bikes have big spaces between them and i think they look ugly.
I.Robot chopper
This baby is created for the promotion of the movie I.Robot. I envied Will Smith who had a chance to try on it.
I wonder why there are no choppers in Malaysia. I checked the Kastam Malaysia site and can't find any details about importing a chopper. I went the the JPJ site and also found no regulations about having a custom made motorcycle. There are only reminders stating that having a "kereta potong" is illegal. I wonder if "choppers" or "motosikal potong" are illegal. I hope not. Kereta potong is an ugly rojak of unused motor parts and in contrast... motosikal 'chop' is very much better than a pork chop or a chicken chop. It's a piece of art.

Olympic 2008 Stadiums
National Stadium or The "Nest"
WOW! Look at that!
I really thinks the Beijing Olympic Stadiums looks great! The state-of-the-art designs, especially for the National Stadium and Aquatics Center look so unique that it drew global attention and floods of comments. Some say the National Stadium looks funny with interwining steel slabs to form a nest. Some say the Aquatic Centre looks just like a big block of ice... haha, to cool down the cross-strait tension huh?
Aquatics Center
And not far away... the most beautiful of all
Beijing Grand Theater
This magnificent dome is covered by titanium on the outside and it glimmers under the sun. It's surrounded by water and the entrance is an underground tunnel with transparent ceiling where visitors can have a view of the mass of water above. The dome looks very much like an egg in the middle of the sea. Or and island in the middle of the sea? or Taiwan?
Isn't the EGG supposed to be in the NEST? When will the unification be? The tickets for the Olympics 'Nest' Stadium is fully booked for now and thus leaving no room for the EGG. Perhaps Taiwen will have to wait until the 2008 Olympics is over.
